THE DINOSAUR PROJECT

Digging Up Dirt On The Dinosaurs
2003

A World-class opportunity

…is yours at a world-class dinosaur bone site. For teachers seeking professional development, for graduate education students and undergraduate science students Southwestern Adventist University and Earth History Research Center are offering the opportunity of a lifetime.  Become acquainted with the history and *taphonomy of dinosaurs under the magnificent skies of eastern Wyoming .

IN THE QUARRY…

…you will participate, first hand, in the discovery and excavation of dinosaur bones from Edmontosaurus (a duck-billed dinosaur), Triceratops, Pachycephalosaurus (bone heads), Tyrannosaurus, and other theropods.  You will also experience cutting-edge technology, teamwork, and leadership with individuals from a variety of educational backgrounds.  Participants should be students or teachers who are comfortable with a Christian lifestyle and open to considering ideas of origin other than the traditional evolutionary paradigm. We welcome teachers and college students meeting these criteria who are interested in participating in this program.

CASUAL EVENING LECTURES…

…will include paleontology, geology, and *taphonomy.  The unraveling of mysteries long buried in the Wyoming hills and their relationship to Earth’s history will be discussed during the evening lecture series.

TRAVEL…

…to interesting and relevant sites in the nearby Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Hot Springs Mammoth Quarry.  Enjoy and learn from these well-known geologic and scenic areas where rock strata, excavation techniques, preservation procedures, and  other historical content  will enrich your experience.

DATES…

…for the summer field season for 2003 will extend from June 2 through July 2.  Three-week professional development sessions will be offered.  A four-week college credit course is available  beginning June 2.  All course participants are welcome to stay for the full four weeks.
