dinosaur bone site. For teachers seeking professional development, for
graduate education students and undergraduate science students Southwestern
Adventist University and Earth History Research Center are
offering the opportunity of a lifetime.
Become acquainted with the history and *taphonomy of
dinosaurs under the magnificent skies of eastern
Wyoming
.
IN THE
QUARRY…
…you
will participate, first hand, in the discovery and excavation of
dinosaur bones from Edmontosaurus (a duck-billed dinosaur), Triceratops,
Pachycephalosaurus (bone heads), Tyrannosaurus, and other
theropods. You will also
experience cutting-edge technology, teamwork, and leadership with
individuals from a variety of educational backgrounds.
Participants should be students or teachers who are comfortable
with a Christian lifestyle and open to considering ideas of origin other
than the traditional evolutionary paradigm. We welcome teachers and
college students meeting these criteria who are interested in
participating in this program.
CASUAL
EVENING LECTURES…
…will
include paleontology, geology, and *taphonomy.
The unraveling of mysteries long buried in the
Wyoming
hills and their relationship to Earth’s history will be discussed
during the evening lecture series.
TRAVEL…
…to
interesting and relevant sites in the nearby Black Hills, Mount
Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Hot Springs Mammoth Quarry.
Enjoy and learn from these well-known geologic and scenic areas
where rock strata, excavation techniques, preservation procedures, and other
historical content will
enrich your experience.
DATES…
…for
the summer field season for 2003 will extend from June 2 through July 2.
Three-week professional development sessions will be offered.
A four-week college credit course is available
beginning June 2. All
course participants are welcome to stay for the full four weeks.
