Welcome to A&P 101 and 102 an integrated study of human anatomy and physiology, organ systems, cellular biology and electrolyte acid/base balance. This course consists of three hours of lecture and three hours of lab per week (expect to be in lab for the full three hours). This course does not apply towards a Biology major or minor

Both lab and lecture quizzes will be given in the first ten minutes of class, DON’T BE LATE. Lecture and lab quizzes will not be given twice. Lecture quiz dates are given in the lecture outline. Lab quizzes will be given weekly and will mostly reflect the previous week’s lab material. All labs are due at the end of lab and will be returned to you in about a week. Do not plan on getting your lab worksheets back for review before the next quiz. This is just not always possible.

The final exams for both semesters will be comprehensive, based upon previous tests and any recent lecture material. Also, I as the instructor reserve the right to adjust the grading schedule to accurately reflect your level of comprehension. This usually works to your advantage. Also, absolutely no extra credit will be given to any one individual. Any extra credit that may be given will be available to the whole class equally; after all this is college.

In order to be successful in this class you will need to be prompt, take good lecture notes, fill out your review sheets, do well on quizzes and tests, show up for labs, be attentive, and be able to memorize materials quickly. You will also need protective eyewear, gloves and a dissecting kit (all available in the campus Book SAC).

Remember, your success and mine are linked. You are not out there alone. We can do this together, but you must give it 110%. Good luck!

Additional Notice:

Students purchasing Marieb 5th Ed. used from the bookstore can also purchase the online study helps for 14.40 at http://wps.aw.com/bc_marieb_happlace_6 . I highly recommend this as a personal tutor.

There will be no comprehensive lab final.
Remember to always be prompt to lab so as not to miss your quiz. The only excuses accepted for missing a lab or quizzes will be death or dismemberment. Also, once you are assigned to a lab there will be no switching. The lab instructor has no authority to reassign you for any reason so don't hassle him. Don't forget to preview your labs before coming so you will be up to speed when lab begins. Again, good luck!
