The Human Subjects Review Board


     THE HUMAN SUBJECTS REVIEW BOARD is responsible for reviewing proposals
     of Southwestern Adventist University Faculty, staff and students research involving 
     human subjects. Review guidelines are patterned after the Belmont Report (1979) and 
     the Code of Federal Regulations, 45 CFR 46, (March, 1983). Our review guidelines 
     are designed to:

        1. Support and encourage research as an educational mandate
        2. Recognize and honor the sanctity of human life
        3. Provide a safeguard for basic human rights
